Fashion walks the carpet

The Ohio State Beauty Academy held the fall fashion show "A Night on the Red Carpet" at the UNOH Event Center.

There were 55 designers and models who made their way down the cat walk.

Kennedie Farthing, a designer from Kenton, who worked with her model, Trinity Preston, also from Kenton, said, "I've worked on the dress for probably and week and a half. I hand did everything on the dress. The hair. We started this morning. So we've put in about six hours."

In a typical fashion show, models walk the catwalk dressed in the clothing created by the designer. Clothing is illuminated on the catwalk using various forms of lighting. It is then up to the audience to not only try to understand what the designer is trying to say, but to also visually deconstruct each outfit and try to appreciate the detail and craftsmanship of every single piece.

This show was no different.

The hairstyles were paired with creative makeup applications, nail art, and accompanying designs. Models in the show walked the catwalk showing off their hairstyles, makeup applications and nail art inspired by the world of fashion and glamour as seen on red carpet events around the world. Since early September, students have been preparing their looks and made final touches today.

Jillian Jarvis, Vice President of Development and Operations, said that the emphasis this year was pulled back from the previous years which involved fantasy and costumes. This year the emphasis was on glamour, dresses, hair, and nails.Read more at: blue formal dresses australia | formal dresses australia
